How to Prevent Lipstick from Smudging?

Hi all..

We all love wearing lipsticks but the fear of smudging no one like that right.

As tempting as it is to just swipe and go, a few extra steps will keep your pout looking perfect all day long. Stop worrying with these lipsticks application tricks and tips, your lipstick will not smudge again at meeting or on a date.

Prep your Lips

Lip colour won’t stay on lips if the lips are cracked and pigmented and will apply unevenly and won’t last on rough, dry, or sunburned lips.

Make a DIY sugar scrub mix sugar with any oil coconut or olive oil and use it at least once or twice weekly to keep your lips soft and pink.

Moisturize Lips

Always moisturise your lips. Use any good lip balm with SPF before applying lipstick and when at home apply Vaseline or any other lip balm to moisture you lips. Lips balm will keep your lips hydrated and will make it soft.

If your lips still feel a little too sticky, brush a bit of sheer powder on them before layering on your lipstick.

Powder Lips

After applying your lipstick, blot with a tissue. Next, place the tissue over your lips. Use an invisible setting powder and a blush brush, lightly tap the powder on to the tissue. The powder will absorb the excess moisture of the lipstick and keep it in place.

The powder will absorb the excess moisture of the lipstick and make it last all night long. This works especially well with high-gloss pigments that go haywire in the heat.

Prevention keeps the colour off the teeth

To prevent lipstick from getting on your teeth, slide a clean finger between your lips, then drag it out. The colour that’s on the inner part of your pout will stick to your finger keeping it away from your teeth.

Protection Use the Lip Liner/Concealer

You can use lip liner to keep the lip colour from feathering. But if you don’t want to use a lip liner you can also use concealer. Use concealer to trace around the outside of your lips with a lip brush or your fingers.

The concealer will act like a wall against your lipstick, preventing it from smudging across your face.

Feel free to apply a second coat of concealer after you put on lipstick that will make the lip colour really beautiful. Finish off with a light dusting of translucent powder.

Always carry lip colour in your handbag for quick touch-ups.

While the tricks and techniques listed above are pretty easy and fool proof for a kissable, long-wearing lipstick look, it may still be necessary to blot on a little more colour here or there.

A little practice is all you need to keep your lipstick from fading and smudging. You will never again have to buy a long-stay lipstick again. Say goodbye to frequent reapplication and say hello to forever gorgeous lips!
